SmartTask NEW

Guided Workflow Execution for Wind Turbine Technicians

SmartTask™ blends safety checks and OEM work steps into single, guided workflows for field technicians. Instead of switching between tasks, technicians are directed through a prescribed sequence of actions with conditional branching, built-in shift time reconciliation, and work-in-progress tracking.

How It Works

How SmartTask™ Works

From definition to reconciliation, SmartTask™ structures the entire workflow lifecycle for blade service operations.

1

Define Workflows

Technical managers can define workflows (e.g. 'Level 1 repair', 'LPS test') and the steps required for each. These workflows capture the full sequence of actions, checks, and decision points for a given scope of work.

2

Assign to Turbines

Jobs are created per turbine, each pre-filled with the relevant Workflows required for that scope. The team arrives on site with a clear, structured plan already loaded into the mobile app.

3

Technician Executes

The mobile app guides the technician through each step in sequence — with guidance notes, images, data capture, and decision points. Conditional branching adapts the workflow based on what the technician finds.

4

Shift Reconciliation

At end of day, the team lead reviews a suggested shift breakdown on the mobile app and submits — reducing back-office time adjustment and getting shift data into the system faster.

Blended Workflows

Checks and work steps in a single flow

Traditional field operations require technicians to complete safety checklists in one system and OEM work steps in another — or worse, on paper. SmartTask™ combines both into a single guided workflow with conditional branching based on technician decisions. If the repair scope changes from epoxy to biax, the workflow adapts. Existing checklists can be broken down and blended into the step sequence. Technicians no longer need to stop one task and start another.

  • Blend safety checks and OEM work steps into a single guided workflow
  • Conditional branching adapts the sequence based on technician input
  • Guidance notes, reference images, and decision points at every step
  • Eliminates task-switching errors on the turbine

Shift Reconciliation

Shift Time Reconciliation

Getting accurate shift data out of the field has always been one of the hardest problems in blade service operations. SmartTask™ solves this by generating a suggested shift breakdown based on completed WorkSteps and project defaults. Team leads review and adjust the breakdown on the mobile app before submittal. Default schedules are adjusted for standby and delay time captured within the workflow. Shift times are then extracted and translated into classic time entry records via TAPI.

  • Team leads review and adjust shift breakdowns on the mobile app
  • Suggested schedule based on completed WorkSteps and project defaults
  • Standby and delay time captured within the workflow
  • Shift data flows to Collabaro Desk and TAPI automatically

WIP Reporting

Work In Progress Reporting

One of the most persistent challenges for blade service contractors is answering a simple question: how much of the work is actually done? SmartTask™ provides reliable percentage budget used versus percentage actual work completed at the project level. Each WorkStep has an expected duration, and completion percentage is inferred from weighted progress. Blade contact session times are apportioned accurately across WorkSteps, giving finance teams and board-level stakeholders the confidence they need.

  • Real-time % budget used vs % actual work completed
  • WorkStep-level progress tracking with weighted duration inference
  • Blade contact session times apportioned accurately across activities
  • Enables reliable WIP reporting for finance and board-level confidence

Capabilities

Built for Blade Service Operations

SmartTask™ is designed around the real constraints of wind turbine field work — prescribed protocols, limited connectivity, and the need for reliable data from day one.

Prescribed Protocols

Tightly prescribed work sequences that technicians follow step by step. Every action is guided, every decision point is captured, and every deviation is recorded.

No Deep Training Required

Technical managers build sophisticated workflows without deep Collabaro knowledge. The workflow builder is intuitive enough that new configurations can be created and deployed within hours.

Straight-Through Processing

Potential for automatic time approval with AI anomaly detection. When shift data falls within expected parameters, approvals can flow straight through without manual intervention.

Dataset Consolidation

Cross-project data stores for DSR-style reporting across jobs and tasks. All workflow data feeds into a unified dataset that supports aggregated analysis and compliance reporting.

OEM Work Instructions

Mirror Vestas, Siemens Gamesa, Nordex, and Enercon repair protocols exactly. SmartTask™ workflows can be configured to follow OEM-prescribed sequences step for step.

Offline Capable

Full workflow execution offline; syncs when connected. Technicians working on remote wind farms or offshore turbines can complete their entire shift without a network connection.
