With 560+ technicians deployed annually across 6 continents — servicing Vestas, Siemens Gamesa, GE Vernova, Nordex, and Enercon fleets — GEV are recognised as global leaders in the wind turbine maintenance and blade repair sector.
Technicians relied on laptops, standalone cameras, and manually compiled Word documents to produce post work reports. The process was time-consuming, frustrating & the report formatting was inconsistent and poorly aligned with customer preferred templates.
Rapid expansion magnified these reporting inefficiencies, which both wasted expensive technician time on administration and delayed invoicing for completed work. These were growth inhibiting problems.
Collabaro was developed in conjunction with GEV to be a unique field management application, designed specifically to meet the demands of blade services work.
We created software that would enable technical managers to create report templates that exactly matched client examples. To ensure that the required images & data were captured on the blade, even when away from a network connection, we also created a process where digital forms can be designed and published to mobile devices, for completion in the field.
The completed solution removed technicians from report creation, which was now undertaken in the office, at a mouse click, with the collected data being merged with the report template to create a PDF document, ready to be sent to the client.
The scope of Collabaro has increased from a reporting solution, ten years ago, to the full work management solution that GEV will use today on multiple projects.
